When I saw frozen figs at Trader Joe’s the other day, my frugal shopping habits went out the window, and I bought them even though they weren’t on my shopping list. I couldn’t pass them up, since I just love figs, and it was the first time I’d seen them come frozen. I didn’t have any idea what I’d make with them, but I knew I could play around and come up with something new for First Time Foods.
So here I am, with a smoothie recipe to use up these frozen figs. I added cocoa powder, to make this chocolatey and rich and play well with the banana and fig flavors.
And who doesn’t love the combo of peanut butter and chocolate and peanut butter and banana? This rich smoothie has all those great flavors. If you’re feeling particularly healthy, toss in a handful of spinach, and you can eat this for breakfast. Otherwise, it’s a great healthy chocolatey afternoon snack.
Enjoy!
