Everything tastes better grilled (you can quote me on that). Did you know you can grill fruit? The heat caramelizes the natural sugars found in fruit, and the grill produces beautiful grill marks, making for a tasty and also pretty dessert. Most stone fruit – such as peaches, nectarines, plums – work well on the grill, because they’re hearty, and thus won’t go crashing through the grill grates because they fell apart. Not like that’s ever happened to me before…
You’ve got to try grilling peaches. It’s like the best thing ever. Super super simple. (Can you tell I like simple recipes? Especially in the summer.) You can top these grilled peaches with whatever your heart desires – ice cream, maple syrup, Greek yogurt, honey, have at it.
I made these on the grill after the coals were burning low, so that the peaches didn’t burn, but had the right amount of heat to get those perfect grill marks, and they were perfectly timed for dessert!
What’s the oddest thing you’ve ever grilled?
Prep Time: 2 minutes
Cook Time: 8 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
Yield: 3 servings
- 3 peaches, cut in half with pit removed
- ground ginger
- olive oil
- Brush the peach halves with olive oil. Sprinkle with cinnamon and ground ginger.
- Place cut side down on the grill. If over direct heat, cook for 3-4 minutes. If cooking over indirect heat, cook for 6-8 minutes. Halfway through, rotate peach half 90* to get those classic grilled hatch marks.
